“No deposit ✓ free bet” = a sports free bet you get just for registering through our link. “Casino only” = a no-deposit bonus for the casino side. “English site” = the site loaded in English when we opened its /en/ address from Japan on October 3–5, 2026 (“—” = not checked). Offers were opened through our links from a Japanese IP address. Queen Casino, previously 10th, is no longer ranked while its licence status is under review (why).
If you live in Japan or you are visiting and want to bet on a Giants game, a J.League derby or an MLB game with a Japanese star on the mound, the first question is usually simple: where can I get a free bet without depositing? In October 2026 two sites give you one just for signing up through our link: Yuugado (a ¥1,500 free bet, approx. US$9.48) and Mystino (a ¥1,000 free bet, approx. US$6.32). Both add a casino bonus of the same size, and both run their sites in English as well as Japanese, with a yen balance.
This page compares the nine sports betting sites we rate highest for players in Japan: the sports offers, free-bet rules, wagering on sports bonuses, the Japanese sports you can bet on, and payments in yen. We opened every site from a Japanese IP address on October 5, 2026 (some details on October 3–4) and read the bonus terms in the original. You will also find a free-bet calculator table, a guide to decimal odds and bet types, explanations of Japanese competitions such as NPB and sumo, and what happened to bet365, 10bet, Sportsbet.io and William Hill.
Yen amounts are converted to US dollars at approx. ¥158 = US$1 (European Central Bank reference rate, October 5, 2026); conversions are rounded and only a guide — your balance stays in the currency the site uses.

What is sports betting, and why bet at an online casino?
Sports betting in a nutshell
Sports betting means staking money on the outcome of a real match at odds set by the operator. Besides the simple “home win / draw / away win”, a single football or baseball game usually offers dozens of markets: over/under on the total score, handicaps that give one side a head start, the first team to score, player props and more. If your bet wins, you are paid stake × odds.
A site that only takes sports bets is a “bookmaker” (in Japanese, ブックメーカー, bukkumēkā). Most sites aimed at Japan, however, run a casino and a sportsbook on one account and one balance. At Yuugado and Mystino you just switch between “Casino” and “Sports” at the top of the screen, and Kajitabi has run its own sportsbook, Kajitabi Sports, alongside the casino since April 2019. That is why every site on this page is a casino with a full sportsbook rather than a pure bookmaker.
Why bet on sport at an online casino?
- No-deposit free bets. Yuugado and Mystino add a sports free bet as soon as you register through our link.
- One balance for casino and sport. Play a few slots between games or move winnings straight to the next match without transferring money.
- You choose casino or sports on each deposit. At Yuugado, Mystino and Kajitabi, picking the sports welcome gets you a sports offer with much lighter wagering.
- Betting in yen. Yuugado, Mystino and Bons keep your balance in JPY, so odds and stakes are easy to compare without exchange-rate noise.
- Japanese sport in depth. NPB baseball, the J.League (down to J2 at Kajitabi), B.League basketball, sumo and RIZIN — more than most international bookmakers list.
- Bet on your phone while you watch. Yuugado advertises live streaming on more than 1,000 matches, with in-play betting and cash out.
Sports betting vs casino games
| Sports betting | Casino games (slots etc.) | |
|---|---|---|
| What decides the result | The real match | A random number generator or the dealer |
| Does knowledge help? | Yes — form, fixtures, injuries and weather all matter | Mostly knowing the rules and RTP |
| How long one bet lasts | Until the final whistle (or earlier with live betting) | Seconds to minutes |
| Typical bonus wagering | Around 10× for sports bonuses | Around 20× for casino bonuses |
| Free play | Free bet (you keep the profit only) | Free spins (winnings usually carry wagering) |

The 9 best sports betting sites in Japan (October 2026)
Our order weighs four things: (1) the value of the sports offer (no-deposit free bets, free bets and wagering), (2) how well Japanese sport is covered, (3) deposits and withdrawals in yen, and (4) how clear the terms are. The commission we earn never decides a position. For each site we also note whether the interface is available in English, because that matters if you do not read Japanese.
| Site | English interface (checked Oct 3–5, 2026) | Balance currency |
|---|---|---|
| Yes — /en/sports loads in English | JPY (USD also offered) | |
| Yes — /en/sports loads in English | JPY (USD also offered) | |

CasinoMe is not in this table because we did not check its English version this time.
1. Yuugado: a ¥1,500 no-deposit free bet and a sportsbook in yen
Yuugado (遊雅堂) was built by the company behind Vera&John specifically for players in Japan, with a yen balance and — unlike Vera&John’s Japanese site — a full sportsbook. Register through the campaign page our link opens and you get a ¥1,500 sports free bet plus a ¥1,500 no-deposit casino bonus (¥3,000 in total, approx. US$18.96) (checked October 5, 2026). The free bet is added automatically once registration is complete and appears in the bet slip with a gift icon.

The sportsbook front page carries the “Sports Club” (weekly free bets of up to ¥7,500 for meeting targets), the “Japan-US pro baseball mission” (up to ¥4,500 in free bets a week on NPB and MLB) and “special odds” boosts on big games. It covers football, baseball, basketball, tennis, martial arts, table tennis, volleyball, boxing, esports and ice hockey, and an auto-bet tool places your bet when the price reaches the odds you set (checked October 3, 2026). The whole sportsbook works in English: on October 5 the English version showed 239 live events.

| No-deposit offer (our link) | ¥1,500 free bet (valid 7 days, use in one go) + ¥1,500 casino bonus (20× wagering, 30 days) |

| Sports bonus terms | 10× wagering, odds 1.70+, 30 days; cashout capped at 10× the bonus |
| Minimum deposit for bonuses | ¥1,500 (approx. US$9.48) |

2. Mystino: ¥1,000 free bet + ¥1,000 casino bonus with no deposit
Sign up at Mystino through our link and you receive ¥2,000 (approx. US$12.64) with no deposit: a ¥1,000 casino bonus plus a ¥1,000 free bet, no bonus code needed (checked October 5, 2026). The sportsbook is built the same way as Yuugado’s, with a “Casino / Sports / Poker” switch at the top, and the welcome works the same too: on each of your first three deposits you choose either the casino or the sports offer. The English version of the site works — we loaded /en/sports from Japan on October 5, 2026.

Where Mystino stands out is ongoing value: weekly free-bet missions, a Saturday cashback of up to ¥75,000, and a weekly ¥1,500 free bet when you play ¥15,000 in cash on slots during the campaign period.
| No-deposit offer (our link) | ¥1,000 free bet + ¥1,000 casino bonus (casino part 20×, 30 days; withdrawals before a first deposit capped at ¥10,000) |
| Sports welcome | 150% up to ¥75,000 → 50% up to ¥45,000 → 75% up to ¥30,000, each with a 10% free bet (max ¥7,500); 10× wagering |

3. Kajitabi: up to $100 in free bets, plus J2, sumo and RIZIN
Kajitabi (カジ旅, also spelled Casitabi) asks new players to choose a side: “casino” or “sports”. Pick sports and the welcome is up to $100 in free bets plus 50 free spins (checked October 5, 2026 through our link). 100% of your first deposit (minimum $20) comes back as free bets, paid into the treasure chest as $10 and $5 tokens, and free-bet winnings are real money with no wagering — the profit can be withdrawn as it is.

The sportsbook claims 40+ sports at any time. On October 3, 2026 it listed 1,154 football events, 244 basketball, 177 tennis, 60 MMA, 15 baseball and 3 sumo markets. J2 matches such as Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo v Iwaki FC were priced 1X2 and double chance, and the B.League and RIZIN are covered too. There is a combo boost of up to 2×, six odds formats and cash out. The one drawback for English speakers: the site is Japanese only (its /en/ address redirected to the Japanese site on October 5), so you will be reading 「スポーツ」 rather than “Sports”.

| Sports welcome | 100% of first deposit as free bets, up to $100 (min. deposit $20); 50 free spins on Homerun 777 from $50 |
| Free-bet rules | Singles only, odds 1.5+, activate within 21 days, then 7 days to use; profit paid as real money |
| Bonus money on sports | 10× wagering, odds 1.8+, max $50 per bet; system bets excluded |
| Language / currency | Japanese only / US dollars |

- ✓ No wagering on free-bet winnings
- ✓ J2, B.League, sumo and RIZIN markets
- ✓ Combo boost up to 2×
- ✓ Japanese live chat 15:00–01:00 JST
Cons
- ✕ USD balance only

4. Bons: horse racing, F1, sumo and sports cashback
Bons takes its name, in its own words, from “Bet on Slots and Sports”, and the sportsbook shows it. Its sports page promises “30+ sports at all times”, and the front page links straight to the J.League, Japanese and US pro baseball (NPB and MLB), tennis, MMA, F1, horse racing, basketball, rugby and sumo. Of the sites on this page, Bons is the only one with a dedicated horse-racing section. The site has a full English version (plus Korean, Portuguese and Russian) and Android and iOS apps.

| Sports offer | ¥1,000 free bet from a first deposit of ¥2,000+ (approx. US$12.64), 8× wagering, valid 365 days; 5–12.5% cashback on sports losses |
| No deposit | ¥6,000 casino bonus with code BONSBLOG (approx. US$37.92, checked October 3, 2026) |
| VIP status | Sports bets count 500% towards status (terms 29.1.3) |
| Withdrawals | Two free withdrawals a day, then a 10% fee |
| Age rule | Japanese residents must be 20+ (terms 4.1) |
Pros
- ✓ Horse racing, F1 and sumo markets
- ✓ Up to 12.5% cashback on sports losses
- ✓ English site and mobile apps
Cons
- ✕ The free bet carries 8× wagering
- ✕ Bets below odds 1.5 do not count for rebates

5. Casino-X: choose a “sports free bet” as your sign-up perk
Casino-X lets you choose one sign-up perk out of three: an extra 100% crypto bonus, a live-games voucher, or a sports free bet — so if sport is your thing, take the free bet. The sportsbook covers football, tennis, basketball, baseball and esports with live betting, and the menu has a “Sports promotions” area with dedicated sports promo codes. English is one of the languages in the site’s language menu.

| Sports offer | Sports free bet as an optional sign-up perk; sports promo codes |
| Deposit offer | Welcome of 200 free spins + up to 400%; +15% on every crypto deposit |

6. JoyCasino: combo boosts and weekly cashback
JoyCasino has been running since 2014 and puts the casino, live casino and sportsbook on one account. It covers football (J.League, Premier League and more), baseball, tennis, basketball, esports and virtual sports. The promotions page offers up to +100% on combo (accumulator) winnings and an early payout feature, and sports losses also count for the weekly cashback of 2.5–10%. English is available in the language menu.

| Sports offer | Combo winnings boosted up to +100%, early payout, 2.5–10% sports cashback (final odds 1.5+) |
| Deposit offer | 200% first-deposit bonus + 200 free spins; 10% on every crypto deposit |
| Licence | Curaçao OGL/2024/863/0412 |

7. CasinoMe: Kajitabi’s sister sportsbook
CasinoMe is run by Lemon Lama Limitada, the same company as Kajitabi, and its sportsbook takes singles, combos, system bets and live bets. The welcome of up to $777 can be used on sport, where wagering is 10× (odds 1.8+, max bet $50). “CashMe”, which returns part of every bet, also works on sports.

| Sports offer | Welcome up to $777, usable on sports (10× wagering, odds 1.8+, max bet $50, 30 days) |
| Minimum deposit | $20 |
| Licence | Anjouan ALSI-202505046-FI2 |

8. Stake: the pick for betting with crypto
Stake is one of the largest crypto sportsbooks in the world. From Japan, stake.com and its help centre return “HTTP 451 Unavailable For Legal Reasons”, but our link goes to stake.games, the address Stake uses for Japan. On October 3, 2026 baseball, football, basketball, boxing, MMA and tennis were trending on the front page. There is no sign-up offer through our link; the value is in rakeback (3.5% of the theoretical house edge) and a VIP programme where sports bets count three times.
| Sports offer | No sign-up offer (checked September 27, 2026); rakeback; sports count 3× for VIP progress |
| Payments | 20+ cryptocurrencies, no minimum deposit, no withdrawal cap (wager 100% of a deposit before withdrawing: terms 8.10) |
| ID for Japan | Passport or Japanese driving licence only |
| Operator / licence | Medium Rare N.V. / Curaçao OGL/2024/1451/0918 — “Assessment in progress” (renewal under review) on the CGA register on October 2, 2026 |

9. StealthBet: USDT bonuses on the Mystino platform
StealthBet is run by the same company and under the same licence as Mystino, with the same “Casino / Sports / Poker” switch and a working English version. Balances are mainly in USDT, and through our link you get 3 USDT with no deposit, then 3 USDT every 24 hours for nine days (30 USDT in total) — a casino bonus with 30× wagering, each credit valid for one day and winnings capped at 2× the bonus (checked October 5, 2026). It is not a sports no-deposit offer, but it suits players who want to move between sport and casino in crypto.

| No-deposit offer (our link) | 3 USDT + 3 USDT a day for 9 days = 30 USDT (casino) |
| Welcome | 150% up to 1,500 USDT + 100 FS, then 100% up to 1,500 USDT + 100 FS (casino, 40×) |
| Operator / licence | Hypergames International Limitada / Anjouan ALSI-202505010-FI1 |
Not ranked: Queen Casino — licence status under review
Queen Casino has moved to the queen.ninja domain and runs its sportsbook on BETBY. When we opened it on October 5, 2026, the top “popular” events were Japanese: an NPB game (Chiba Lotte Marines v Saitama Seibu Lions) and J.League fixtures such as Kashima Antlers v Gamba Osaka, with odds displayed in yen. Pachinko/pachislot, casino and sports share one wallet. The site is Japanese only (/en/sports redirects to /ja/sports).
Licence warning (checked October 5, 2026)
Queen Casino’s footer states that its Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1635/0968 is “active”. However, the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s own validator, opened from the seal for queen-casino.com, showed “License status: Revoked” on October 5, 2026, and the CGA licence register dated October 2, 2026 lists the same number as “Expired”. We have therefore taken Queen Casino out of our ranking (it was 10th) and removed our link to the site. If you already play there, check the footer and the CGA record yourself; until the status shows active again, the nine sites above are the safer choice. Note also the withdrawal limit of €10,000 a month.

Other sites with a sportsbook
Konibet has an “Original Sports” section where bets at odds 1.5+ count (Konibet review in Japanese). We also check bookmakers we do not work with, because readers ask about them; these opened their sportsbook from a Japanese IP on October 4, 2026:
| Bookmaker | What we found (October 4, 2026) | Review |
|---|---|---|
| 22Bet | Japanese site, JPY account; sports first-deposit bonus 100% up to ¥20,130 (5× on accumulators, 7 days) | In Japanese |
| Dafabet | Two sportsbooks (Dafa Sports, OW Sports); USD only; sports bonus 110% up to $110 or 25% up to $500 (15×, odds 1.50+) | In Japanese |
| Bet Channel | Pari-mutuel odds on NPB, high-school baseball, B.League, JRA graded races, sumo and mahjong; $20 no-deposit bonus (10×) | In Japanese |
What about Vera&John and InterCasino?
Both are casino-only on their Japanese sites: the /ja/sports address returned “page not found” on both when we checked on October 5, 2026. If you like Vera&John, its sister site Yuugado is run by the same company and has the full sportsbook described above. Both still have strong casino offers through our links — see our no-deposit bonus guide.

What is a no-deposit bonus in sports betting?
A no-deposit bonus is something you receive just for opening an account. At the casino it is usually bonus cash or free spins; in sports betting it usually comes as a free bet. Yuugado gives ¥1,500 and Mystino ¥1,000; both are credited automatically after registration and neither needs a code.
Unlike casino no-deposit bonuses, a free bet does not normally come with “wager 20× the bonus” conditions — the profit from a winning free bet simply goes into your balance. There are limits, though: at Yuugado, winnings you can withdraw before your first deposit are capped at 10× the no-deposit bonus (¥15,000, approx. US$94.80), and at Mystino at ¥10,000. For casino no-deposit offers as well, see our no-deposit bonus guide for Japan.
Comparing first-deposit sports bonuses
Deposit offers come in two shapes: bonus money (Yuugado, Mystino, CasinoMe) and free bets (Kajitabi, Bons). Here is what a ¥10,000 first deposit (approx. US$63.20) gets you:
| Site | With a ¥10,000 deposit ($70 at Kajitabi) | What you must do before withdrawing |
|---|---|---|
| Yuugado / Mystino | ¥15,000 sports bonus + ¥1,000 free bet | Wager ¥15,000 × 10 = ¥150,000 (approx. US$948) at odds 1.70+ |
| Kajitabi | $70 in free bets ($10 × 7) | Nothing — free-bet profit can be withdrawn as it is |
| Bons (first deposit ¥2,000+) | ¥1,000 free bet + deposit bonus | The free bet carries 8× wagering |

Kajitabi uses US dollars, so we used $70. Its free bets are paid as $10 and $5 tokens (campaign terms 23).
Simple rule of thumb: if you bet enough to clear wagering, the larger bonuses at Yuugado and Mystino give more; if you want something you can use without thinking about wagering, Kajitabi’s free bets are cleaner.
Ongoing sports promotions
| Site | Main ongoing offers |
|---|---|
| Yuugado | Japan-US pro baseball mission (up to ¥4,500 in free bets a week), Sports Club (up to ¥7,500), special odds, a ¥1,500 free bet for the Sunday–Wednesday slot challenge |
| Mystino | Weekly free-bet missions, Saturday cashback (up to ¥75,000), a weekly ¥1,500 free bet for ¥15,000 in cash slot play during the campaign |
| Kajitabi | Combo boost (1.05× for 3 legs up to 2× for 20 legs), adventure and treasure-chest free bets |
| Bons | 5–12.5% sports cashback, combo bonus |
| JoyCasino | Combo winnings up to +100%, early payout, 2.5–10% cashback |
Checked on the campaign pages October 3–5, 2026. These rotate weekly.
How a free bet works (and how much you actually get)
What is a free bet?
A free bet is a bet token: you place one bet without using your own money. If it wins you get paid, but you only receive the profit — the free-bet stake itself is not returned. Yuugado’s terms say the amount credited “excludes the free-bet amount”, and Mystino’s help centre explains that “the original stake of a free bet is not returned to your balance”.
The formula is free bet × (odds − 1). A ¥1,500 free bet on odds of 2.50 returns ¥3,750, minus the ¥1,500 stake: you receive ¥2,250 (approx. US$14.22).
Free-bet payouts by odds
| Odds | Yuugado ¥1,500 | Mystino ¥1,000 | Kajitabi $10 | Yuugado in US$ (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.50 | ¥750 | ¥500 | $5.00 | US$4.74 |
| 1.70 | ¥1,050 | ¥700 | $7.00 | US$6.64 |
| 2.00 | ¥1,500 | ¥1,000 | $10.00 | US$9.48 |
| 2.50 | ¥2,250 | ¥1,500 | $15.00 | US$14.22 |
| 3.00 | ¥3,000 | ¥2,000 | $20.00 | US$18.96 |
| 4.00 | ¥4,500 | ¥3,000 | $30.00 | US$28.44 |
| 6.00 | ¥7,500 | ¥5,000 | $50.00 | US$47.40 |
What you receive if the bet wins (profit only). If it loses, the free bet simply disappears; your balance does not go down.
As the table shows, the lower the odds, the less a free bet is worth. Used at 1.5, a ¥1,500 free bet pays only ¥750. Chasing long shots at 6.0 has the opposite problem: most of the time the free bet will expire unused.
Getting the most value from a free bet
Odds are also a rough guide to probability. Ignoring the bookmaker’s margin, odds of 2.0 mean about 50%, 3.0 about 33% and 1.5 about 67%. The “average” value of a ¥1,500 free bet is then ¥1,500 × 50% = ¥750 at 2.0, ¥3,000 × 33% = about ¥1,000 at 3.0, and ¥750 × 67% = about ¥500 at 1.5. On that logic, odds of roughly 2.5 to 4.0 get the most out of a free bet.

Yuugado and Mystino: campaign terms our links open (checked October 5, 2026); Kajitabi: bonus terms (October 3, 2026). “—” = no specific rule in the terms.
On every site, if a bet is refunded at odds of 1.00 (for example a draw on a “draw no bet” market) or the market is voided, the free bet is lost rather than returned (Kajitabi bonus terms 1.29). Avoid refund-prone markets such as draw no bet when you use a free bet.
Sports bonus wagering explained, with worked examples
A deposit “sports bonus”, unlike a free bet, is bonus money, so you have to bet a set amount before you can withdraw. Among Japan-facing sites 10× the bonus is the norm — much lighter than the 20× typical of casino bonuses.
| Rule | Yuugado / Mystino | Kajitabi / CasinoMe |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering | 10× the bonus | 10× the bonus (casino 20×) |
| Minimum odds that count | 1.70 | 1.80 |
| Max bet with bonus money | — | $50 per bet |
| Cashed-out bets | Do not count | Do not count |
| Time limit | 30 days | 30 days |
| Max cashout from the bonus | 10× the bonus | — |
Yuugado/Mystino: “welcome bonus – sports” terms (checked October 5, 2026); Kajitabi/CasinoMe: bonus terms.
Example 1: a ¥10,000 deposit at Yuugado
Choose the sports bonus on your first deposit and ¥10,000 × 150% gives you a ¥15,000 sports bonus, plus ¥10,000 × 10% = a ¥1,000 free bet. Wagering is ¥15,000 × 10 = ¥150,000 (approx. US$948). Only bets at odds of 1.70 or more count, so ¥5,000 bets on games priced 1.80–2.20 clear it in 30 bets — about one a day within the 30-day window.
Example 2: bonus money at Kajitabi
To clear $100 of bonus money on sport at Kajitabi you need $100 × 10 = $1,000 in bets at odds of 1.8+. With a $50 maximum per bet, that is at least 20 bets. Clearing the same $100 in the casino would need 20× = $2,000 at a $5 maximum, i.e. 400 spins — so if you mainly bet on sport, the sports offer is far easier. Kajitabi’s “sports” welcome itself is paid as free bets, not bonus money, so this wagering does not apply to it.
Tips for clearing wagering faster
- Stay close to the minimum odds (1.70–2.00). You win more often and keep your balance alive while the turnover builds.
- Do not cash out. At Yuugado and Mystino, cashed-out bets do not count, and any amount already counted is reversed.
- Refunded bets go back on the counter. Voided or refunded stakes are added back to the wagering requirement (Yuugado terms 16).
- Combos count on the total odds. Combos and bet builders count, but the final odds must be 1.70 or more.
- No stacking. While a sports bonus is active you cannot combine it with free bets, early payout, auto-bet or cashback (Yuugado terms 20).

Baseball: NPB
Nippon Professional Baseball is the most popular betting sport in Japan. Its twelve teams play in two leagues, the Central League and the Pacific League, and the season ends with the playoffs and the Japan Series. Kajitabi offers match bets plus long-term outrights on the league winners, the Japan Series and the MVP. At Queen Casino on October 5, 2026, Chiba Lotte Marines v Saitama Seibu Lions was priced as a two-way “winner (including extra innings)” market at 2.04 and 1.74. Yuugado gives weekly free bets on NPB and MLB through its Japan-US pro baseball mission.
One NPB rule catches visitors out: regular-season games can end in a tie. Before you bet, check whether the market is two-way (extra innings included) or three-way with the draw, and how a tie is settled. Run line (handicap) and over/under total runs are the other standard markets.

MLB and the Japanese stars
Japanese fans follow MLB as closely as NPB, mostly because of Shohei Ohtani and the other Japanese players in the majors. Many games start in the morning Japan time (JST, UTC+9), so plenty of people bet live before work or at lunch. Yuugado, Kajitabi, Bons and Stake all carry MLB; when we checked, Kajitabi had a live Dodgers v Braves game at 1.09 and 6.8. Player props (hits, strikeouts, home runs) depend on the game and the site, so check the match page rather than assuming they are there.

Football: J.League and European leagues
The J.League is Japan’s professional football league, with J1 at the top and J2 and J3 below. Kajitabi, Bons, Queen Casino and JoyCasino carry it, and Kajitabi goes down to J2 (October 3, 2026: Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo v Iwaki FC at 2.28 / 3.5 / 2.76). Core markets are 1X2, double chance, draw no bet, over/under goals and Asian handicap. The Premier League and the Champions League are on every site.

Basketball: B.League and NBA
Kajitabi covers the B.League — Japan’s professional basketball league — and the NBA, including quarter-by-quarter live bets on the NBA. With high scores, handicap and total-points markets are the main ones.
Tennis
The four Grand Slams and the ATP and WTA tours run almost all year; Kajitabi listed 177 tennis events on October 3, 2026. Set-by-set and game-by-game live betting suits players who like to follow the flow of a match.
Sumo: the six grand tournaments
Professional sumo (大相撲, ōzumō) holds six official tournaments, or honbasho, a year — in January, March, May, July, September and November — each lasting 15 days. Sumo markets appear around these tournaments: Kajitabi listed three sumo markets on October 3, 2026, and Bons links to sumo from its sportsbook front page. Bets are usually head-to-head bout winners or tournament outrights.
Horse racing, combat sports and esports
Bons has a dedicated horse-racing section, but horse-racing bets do not count towards its bonus wagering. RIZIN — Japan’s best-known MMA promotion — other MMA and boxing are on Kajitabi, Stake and Bons. Esports covers CS, Dota 2 and League of Legends, plus Valorant at Bons. (JRA horse racing can also be bet through the JRA’s own services — see the toto and JRA section.)

Bet types and how decimal odds work
Reading decimal odds (and the other formats)
Japan-facing sites show decimal (European) odds by default: return = stake × odds, stake included. Kajitabi lets you switch between six formats; here is the same price in each.
| Format | 2.50 shown as | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.50 | ¥1,000 returns ¥2,500 (¥1,500 profit, approx. US$9.48) |
| American | +150 | $100 wins $150 profit |
| Fractional | 3/2 | 3 profit for every 2 staked |
| Hong Kong | 1.50 | Profit per 1 staked |
| Indonesian | +1.50 | Above 1 = profit; negative = stake needed |
| Malaysian | -0.67 | Profits below 1 shown as negatives |
Bet types you will see
| Bet | What it means | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline (winner) | Pick the winner; baseball is usually two-way including extra innings | How a tie is settled |
| 1X2 (three-way) | Home win, draw or away win | The football standard |
| Handicap / Asian handicap | One side gets a head start | -1.25 = half on -1.0, half on -1.5 |
| Over/under | Total goals or runs above or below a line | Quarter lines (2.25) split your stake |
| Single | One selection | — |
| Combo (accumulator) | Several selections, odds multiplied | One loser and the whole bet loses |
| System | Several combos built from one set of picks | Each combination costs a full stake |
| Bet builder | Several markets from the same match | Every part must win |
| Outright | League winner, MVP and other long-term results | Money is tied up until the end |
System bets have fixed sizes: a Trixie (3 picks) is 4 bets, a Yankee (4 picks) 11, a Heinz (6 picks) 57 and a Goliath (8 picks) 247, each at the same stake (Kajitabi sportsbook terms 4.3).
| System | Selections | Bets |
|---|---|---|
| Trixie | 3 | 4 (3 doubles + 1 treble) |
| Patent | 3 | 7 |
| Yankee | 4 | 11 |
| Canadian | 5 | 26 |
| Heinz | 6 | 57 |
| Super Heinz | 7 | 120 |
| Goliath | 8 | 247 |

A worked example with real J2 odds
On October 3, 2026, Kajitabi priced Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo v Iwaki FC at 2.28 (Sapporo), 3.5 (draw) and 2.76 (Iwaki). A $10 bet on Sapporo returns $22.80 if it wins ($12.80 profit); a $10 bet on the draw returns $35.00.
You can also work out the bookmaker’s margin. Add up 1 ÷ each price: 1/2.28 + 1/3.5 + 1/2.76 ≈ 1.087. Then 1 ÷ 1.087 ≈ 92.0% — the share of all stakes the book pays back on that match. Compare that figure for the same match across sites and you know, in numbers, who has the better odds.
A combo example: three selections at 1.8 each with $10 staked gives 1.8 × 1.8 × 1.8 = 5.832, so $58.32. With Kajitabi’s combo boost (1.05× for three legs) that becomes about $61.24.
| Legs in the combo | Kajitabi boost |
|---|---|
| 3 / 4 / 5 | 1.05× / 1.1× / 1.12× |
| 6 / 7 / 8 | 1.15× / 1.2× / 1.25× |
| 9 / 10 / 11 | 1.3× / 1.35× / 1.40× |
| 12 / 13 / 14 | 1.45× / 1.5× / 1.55× |
| 15 / 16 / 17 | 1.6× / 1.65× / 1.7× |
| 18 / 19 / 20 | 1.8× / 1.9× / 2× |
Combo boost applies to legs at odds 1.50+ (Kajitabi promotion terms, checked October 3, 2026).
Live betting and cash out
Live (in-play) betting
Live betting means placing bets after kick-off, as the game unfolds. Odds move every few seconds with goals, red cards and the clock, and betting is briefly suspended at dangerous moments. Yuugado advertises live streaming on more than 1,000 matches, so you can watch and bet on the same screen; Kajitabi offers “rest of the match” markets.

Cash out
Cash out lets you settle a bet before the game ends — locking in part of a profit when you are ahead, or cutting a loss when it is going wrong. At Yuugado you can cash out a free bet too, which is handy when your free-bet pick is leading late in the game. Remember, though, that bets placed with sports bonus money and then cashed out do not count towards wagering.

Betting on your phone
Native apps are rare among Japan-facing sites; most sportsbooks are built for the mobile browser, which works well for live betting and cash out. Bons is the exception, with Android and iOS apps from its own app page (download only from there). Kajitabi’s FAQ recommends saving the site to your home screen so it opens like an app.
| Site | App | Mobile browser |
|---|---|---|
| Bons | Android & iOS (official app page) | ✓ |
| Kajitabi | Add to home screen | ✓ |
| Queen Casino | Add to home screen | ✓ |
| Yuugado / Mystino / StealthBet | — | ✓ |
How to start: from sign-up to your first bet
- Open the campaign page with a button on this page. The Yuugado and Mystino no-deposit free bets only apply to sign-ups through our link.
- Register with your email and a password. You must be 18+ (20+ for Japanese residents at Bons) and may hold one account only.
- At Yuugado and Mystino the free bet is credited automatically — check that it shows in the bet slip on the sports page.
- If the site opens in Japanese, use the language menu (Yuugado, Mystino, StealthBet and Bons have English).
- Open “Sports”, click the odds for the match you want and the selection goes into the bet slip.
- Choose single, combo or system, enter the stake (or select the free bet) and check the potential return.
- Confirm. Placed bets cannot be cancelled, but many games allow cash out.
- When you deposit, pick the sports bonus in the bonus selector — a casino bonus cannot be used on sport.
ID verification (KYC) before your first withdrawal
Every site asks for identity documents around your first withdrawal. Yuugado’s and Mystino’s campaign terms say they “may request account verification”, and if you do not provide documents, bonuses and winnings are forfeited. Stake accepts only a passport or a Japanese driving licence from Japan. If your free bet wins, complete verification before you request the withdrawal so the payout is not held up. For other documents (such as proof of address), follow exactly what the site’s verification page asks for.
Deposits and withdrawals in yen
For yen, Yuugado, Mystino and Bons are the main options; for US dollars, Kajitabi and CasinoMe; for crypto, Stake and StealthBet.
| Site | Main deposit methods | Minimum deposit | Withdrawals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yuugado | Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB (2.25% fee, max $5); Vega Wallet, Payz, Jetonbank; crypto; bank transfer EX | ¥1,500 for bonuses | Bank transfer EX credits in 5–60 min |
| Mystino | JCB, Amex; bitcoin; Vega Wallet, Payz, MatchPay; bank transfer EX | ¥1,500 for bonuses | Bank: 3–5 business days after approval |
| Kajitabi | Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex; 15 cryptocurrencies; Payz; Vega Wallet | $20 | Review within 24 h; bank payout right after approval (from $50) |
| Bons | Cards, crypto (buy with card), Payz, iWallet, Jeton, bank transfer | Shown in cashier | Two free a day, then 10% |
| Stake | 20+ cryptocurrencies | None | No withdrawal cap |
Each site’s payment guide and terms, and our Japanese reviews (checked October 3, 2026).
Staying in yen
Yuugado’s and Mystino’s “bank transfer EX” works both ways and credits in 5–60 minutes at Yuugado. Vega Wallet and Payz are e-wallets accepted at Yuugado, Mystino and Kajitabi: you fund them by card or bank and receive withdrawals back into the wallet. One trap: MuchBetter appears in some cashiers, but its operator does not serve Japan.
Cards
Cards are deposit-only almost everywhere. Yuugado takes Visa, Mastercard, Amex and JCB with a 2.25% fee (max $5); Mystino takes JCB and Amex; Kajitabi takes four brands from $20 to $2,500 per deposit with no fee. Plan a withdrawal method before you deposit by card. Foreign-issued cards may be declined by your own bank for gambling payments, so an e-wallet or bank transfer EX is often smoother.
Betting on sport with crypto
Stake accepts 20+ cryptocurrencies with no minimum deposit and no withdrawal cap, but it has no yen and you must wager 100% of a deposit before withdrawing. Kajitabi takes 15 coins ($20–$5,000 per deposit), Bons lets you buy crypto by card or Apple Pay inside the cashier, and StealthBet pays bonuses in USDT. Network fees and price swings are part of the cost when you convert back to yen. More in our crypto casinos in Japan guide.
| Site | Crypto deposits | Notable for crypto bettors |
|---|---|---|
| Stake | 20+ coins, no minimum | No withdrawal cap; deposit wagered 100% before withdrawal |
| StealthBet | USDT and other coins | Bonuses in USDT |
| Bons | BTC, ETH, USDT, XRP, LTC, SOL, TON, USDC… | Buy Crypto inside the cashier |
| Kajitabi | 15 coins, $20–$5,000 | Crypto withdrawals within 24 h after approval |
| Queen Casino | Crypto + PachiWallet | €10,000 monthly withdrawal cap; see licence warning |
Bookmakers that left Japan (and what to do if you still have an account)
Several big names that English speakers in Japan used for years have closed their Japanese service. Here is where each stands, checked from a Japanese IP on October 4, 2026.
| Bookmaker | Status from Japan | Key dates |
|---|---|---|
| bet365 | Left the Japanese market; Japanese help pages return 404 | Exit December 18, 2024; logins and withdrawals until January 2, 2025 |
| 10bet | Japanese service closed | Closed July 26, 2025 |
| William Hill | Closing for Japanese residents | Deposits stop October 14, 2026; service ends October 28, 2026; online withdrawals until January 28, 2027 |
| Sportsbet.io | HTTP 451 “Unavailable For Legal Reasons” | Seen since September 6, 2026; still on October 4 |
| Supotsubet | Renamed, then closed | Renamed February 2022; closed September 18, 2023 |
If you bet with William Hill
William Hill’s help centre announces its “Japanese market closure”: deposits until October 14, 2026, sports and games until October 28. After October 28 the account is login-and-withdraw only, unused bonuses are removed, and unsettled bets are voided with the stake returned to your balance. Online withdrawals remain possible until January 28, 2027; after that, funds are recovered through customer support. If you have a balance, complete verification and withdraw early rather than at the last minute.

bet365 and 10bet
bet365 left Japan on December 18, 2024; bets placed by then stayed valid, and customers could log in and withdraw until January 2, 2025. Today bet365.com sends Japanese visitors to an English site, and the Japanese help pages return a 404 error. 10bet, which had operated in Japan from 2017, ended its Japanese service on July 26, 2025.

Sportsbet.io is not the same as “Supotsubet”
Searching for “sports bet” in Japanese mixes up two different sites: the crypto bookmaker Sportsbet.io, and a Japan-facing site called スポーツベット (“Supotsubet”) that closed in 2023. Sportsbet.io shows Japanese visitors an HTTP 451 page; Supotsubet no longer exists. Do not deposit at anything advertised as a “new URL” or “mirror” for either — choose a site from this page that opens its sportsbook from Japan.

Japan’s legal betting options: toto, JRA and how licences work
Japan allows betting through a set of public schemes: horse racing (the JRA and the local-government NAR tracks), keirin cycling, motorboat racing and auto racing, plus the sports lotteries toto, BIG, WINNER and DUNK on J.League football and B.League basketball, run by the Japan Sport Council (no sales to anyone under 19). JRA members can bet online through IPAT and Soku-PAT, which are tied to a Japanese bank account.
| Public betting option | What you bet on | How to bet online |
|---|---|---|
| JRA horse racing | Central racing incl. the Japan Cup and Arima Kinen | IPAT / Soku-PAT membership with a designated Japanese bank |
| NAR (local-government) racing | Tracks such as Ohi, Funabashi and Sonoda | The local racing online services |
| Keirin, boat racing, auto racing | Public cycling, motorboat and motorcycle races | Official online betting accounts |
| toto / BIG / WINNER / DUNK | J.League results and B.League (DUNK) pools | toto official site (19+) |

Japanese law has no licensing system for online sportsbooks, so the sites Japanese players use are licensed abroad — all nine ranked sites on this page in Curaçao or Anjouan. How the law applies depends on where you are, so check the rules of your country of residence before you play. Our guide Is online gambling legal in Japan? explains the details.
How to check a betting site’s licence
Scroll to the footer: a properly licensed site names the operating company, its registration number and its licence number. Curaçao licences issued since 2024 carry an OGL/ number that you can check on the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s validator (Yuugado’s showed “Active” on October 3, 2026); Anjouan licences start with ALSI-. If the status is “Expired” or “Revoked”, or the company name does not match, do not deposit — that is exactly why Queen Casino is no longer ranked on this page.
Things to watch out for
Do not let free bets and bonuses expire
Yuugado’s no-deposit free bet lasts 7 days; welcome free bets and sports bonuses last 30 days; Kajitabi’s free bets last 7 days after activation. Sign up a day or two before the weekend games you want to bet on.
Odds keep moving
Odds change before kick-off (starting pitchers, injuries, weather) and every few seconds in play. If the price moves after you add a selection, the bet slip may ask you to accept the new odds.
Set a budget and stick to it
Raising stakes to win back losses is the most common mistake in sports betting. Decide a daily and weekly limit and use the deposit limits and time-outs each site offers.
Read the stacking rules
At Yuugado and Mystino a sports bonus cannot be combined with free bets or cashback, and casino bonuses cannot be used on sport (or the other way round).
How we checked these sites
We are an affiliate site focused on the Japanese market. On October 5, 2026 we opened each site on this page from a Japanese IP address through the same links you click here, and checked the campaign page and its terms, whether the sportsbook loads, which Japanese competitions are listed, payment methods, and the operator and licence number in the footer (some items on October 3–4). English availability was checked by opening each site’s /en/ address from Japan on October 3–5. Exits and blocks were checked on October 4, and Queen Casino’s licence on the CGA validator on October 5. Where a site did not show something, we left it out rather than guess.

Sports betting in Japan: FAQ
Q. Which sports betting sites give a no-deposit bonus in Japan?
A. Through our links, Yuugado gives a ¥1,500 free bet (plus ¥1,500 for the casino) and Mystino a ¥1,000 free bet (plus ¥1,000 for the casino), with no deposit (checked October 5, 2026). Both are credited automatically after registration and need no code.
Q. What is the best sports betting site in Japan?
A. For most players, Yuugado: a no-deposit free bet, a yen balance, an English interface, weekly NPB/MLB free-bet missions, live streaming and cash out. Mystino is the other no-deposit pick, and Kajitabi is best for deeper Japanese markets (J2, sumo, RIZIN) and a first-deposit free bet of up to $100.
Q. How much do I get if my free bet wins?
A. Only the profit: free bet × (odds − 1). A ¥1,500 free bet at odds of 2.50 pays ¥2,250. The free-bet amount itself is not returned.
Q. Do free-bet winnings have wagering?
A. Kajitabi’s welcome free-bet winnings are real money with no wagering. At Yuugado and Mystino the profit goes into your balance, but withdrawals before a first deposit are capped (¥15,000 at Yuugado, ¥10,000 at Mystino).
Q. What is the wagering on sports bonuses?
A. 10× the bonus at Yuugado, Mystino, Kajitabi and CasinoMe. Only bets at odds of 1.70+ (Yuugado, Mystino) or 1.80+ (Kajitabi, CasinoMe) count, within 30 days.
Q. Which betting sites are available in English?
A. Yuugado, Mystino, StealthBet and Bons loaded in English when we opened their /en/ pages from Japan in October 2026, and JoyCasino and Casino-X list English in their language menus. Kajitabi and Queen Casino redirected to Japanese.
Q. Can I bet in Japanese yen?
A. Yes. Yuugado, Mystino and Bons keep a JPY balance. Kajitabi and CasinoMe use US dollars, and Stake is crypto only.
Q. Which sites let me bet on NPB baseball?
A. We saw NPB at Yuugado, Kajitabi, Bons and Queen Casino. Yuugado’s Japan-US pro baseball mission gives up to ¥4,500 in free bets a week. NPB games can end in a tie, so check whether a market is two-way or three-way.
Q. Can I bet on sumo?
A. Yes, around the six grand tournaments (January, March, May, July, September and November). Kajitabi listed sumo markets on October 3, 2026, and Bons links to sumo from its sportsbook.
Q. Is there a minimum odds rule?
A. Kajitabi free bets need odds of 1.5+, Yuugado and Mystino sports bonus wagering counts at 1.70+, and Kajitabi and CasinoMe bonus money at 1.80+.
Q. Can I use a free bet on a combo?
A. Yuugado and Mystino welcome free bets can be used on singles and combos (odds 1.00–10,000). Kajitabi free bets are singles only.
Q. Is cash out available?
A. Yes, at Yuugado, Mystino and Kajitabi among others. Yuugado even lets you cash out a free bet, but bets placed with sports bonus money and then cashed out do not count towards wagering.
Q. Can I still use bet365 in Japan?
A. No. bet365 left the Japanese market on December 18, 2024, and the window to log in and withdraw closed on January 2, 2025.
Q. Why can’t I open Sportsbet.io from Japan?
A. From a Japanese IP it shows an HTTP 451 “Unavailable For Legal Reasons” page (checked October 4, 2026). It is not related to “Supotsubet”, a Japan-facing site that closed in 2023.
Q. Is Queen Casino safe to use?
A. Its footer says its Curaçao licence is active, but the CGA validator showed “License status: Revoked” on October 5, 2026, and the CGA register of October 2 lists the licence as “Expired”. Check the status yourself before depositing; until it is active again, we suggest one of the nine ranked sites.
Q. How old do I have to be?
A. 18+ under each site’s terms; Bons requires Japanese residents to be 20+.
Gambling should be fun. Set deposit and loss limits, never chase losses, and play within the laws where you live. Over 18s only (20+ at some sites for Japanese residents).
